CC - Case Complete. A reference to NVC has completed prescreening a case and the case will now be scheduled for interview at the US embassy. This does not apply to K type visas or other non immigrant visa applicants since their cases are not prescreened thru NVC. A CC is usually signaled by having 3 N/A's showing on the case status at the Consular Electronic Application Center.

MRV - Machine readable Visa. The type of visa the U. S. issues for any kind of visa, it is a sticker placed on a full page of the applicants passport. Many refer to this as the MRV fee, since in many of the U.S. embassies instructions is says to pay the "MRV fee" this is the fee for the visa paid to either the embassy (or thru their local process) or at the NVC for most immigrant visas.
NVC - National Visa Center. A part of the U.S. State Department, where all immigrant visa applications are prescreened to ensure they are documental qualified. Visa/ applications are not approved or denied at the NVC they are only reviewed to ensure all the documents are in order and included in the case before the case is schedule for a visa interview at the U. S. Embassy.
